Altshuler Berzon LLP is a San Francisco law firm that specializes in labor and employment, constitutional, environmental, civil rights, and campaign and election litigation, at both the trial court and appellate levels. Their staff invited DSD to bid on the redesign of their website, changing from a static approach to a dynamic database-driven approach.
DSD performed a visual, functional and architectural redesign employing the Ruby on Rails and MySQL environments.
Among the requirements for the site was its accessibility. Altshuler Berzon represents the National Federation for the Blind, and as such, the site was designed and built to stringent standards that allow special reading devices for the sight-impaired to easily interpret the content of the pages.
With a streamlined approach to content, the site balances editing capabilities with ease of use. Altshuler Berzon staff uses the custom administrative dashboard to create, revise and delete attorney bios, news items, announcements, and case developments. News and announcements appear on specific landing pages and can also be designated for display on the home page.
